Certified hit maker and Kapuso teen star Julie Anne San Jose stepped on the stage of Sunday All Stars armed with two surprises – a song number from an international pop artist and an award for her debut album.
As part of their production number on the weekly reality-themed variety show, Tweethearts prepared a performance incorporating Christmas balls into their routines. But to the crowd’s surprise and delight, the group went the cheeky route and used the holiday decor like never before.
Showbiz darling Julie Anne opened their production number with a bang. Perched on top of a gigantic Christmas ball, the pop star belted out Wrecking Ball popularized by Miley Cyrus.
Julie was later called out by Janno Gibbs, one of the celebrity judges on the show, and was dubbed “Miley San Jose.” Fans quickly latched on to the moniker and took to Twitter to cheer for their idol.
The 19-year-old performer came out on the stage once more in the latter part of the show singing her soon-to-be released single Deeper. Julie herself wrote the song which will also be the carrier single for a new album that she is currently working on.
The crowd was screaming by the end of her song, anticipating the 7x Platinum Award that she was to be given. But Julie’s self-titled debut album was selling like hot cakes and had hit the 8x Platinum mark. Unprepared for the news, she started to weep as she thanked her fans profusely.
Overjoyed by her achievement, Julie’s fans rejoiced with her on Twitter.
With Julie’s career blossoming even more in 2013, what else can we expect from her next year? Will she be in a new TV series, will she be staging more concerts, or will she go on tour to promote her music? Tell us what you think in the comments box below.
